Commission Process
Initial Meeting and Goals
We start with a conversation to discuss your vision, mood, and the purpose of the piece. This ensures the artwork reflects exactly what you have in mind.
Mood Board
I create a mood board to explore the palette, composition, and overall feel of the painting. This helps us align on the tone and atmosphere before any work begins.
Photoshoot for Reference
A photoshoot is arranged to capture the perfect reference image for your painting. This allows for precise details and authenticity in the final piece.
Initial Oil Sketch
I produce an initial sketch in oil. If it aligns with your vision, we move forward; if not, adjustments are made. This stage ensures that certain elements translate beautifully from photograph to painting, and any tweaks are made before the full work begins. Essentially, it’s curating the image to suit the painting.
Painting Stages
The painting progresses in carefully considered stages, with regular updates via photographs and videos so you can follow the process and provide feedback in real time:
● Block-In Drawing
● First Pass
● Second Pass
● Final Details
Framing & Delivery
Once you are happy with the completed painting, I can arrange professional framing and delivery to ensure it arrives safely.
Follow-Up & Care Instructions
After delivery, I provide guidance on caring for your painting so it remains beautiful for years to come.
Additional Information Payment
A deposit (typically 50%) is required before work begins, with the balance due upon approval of the final painting. Payment can be made via bank transfer. This secures your commission and allows me to dedicate the necessary time and materials to your piece.
Timeframe
Typically, a painting takes 4–6 months to complete. For overseas shipping, please allow an additional month for the layers of oil paint to fully dry. For a drawing the timeframe is 1 - 2 months.
